Art has always played an important role in Brian’s life. Like most kids, Brian loved to draw and was influenced by Saturday morning cartoons. Upon moving to Santa Barbara in 1984, a roommate introduced Brian to a stained glassmaking class at Adult Education. The teacher there told him that due to his disability, he wouldn’t have the strength to physically do it, but he proved him wrong and continued to make stained glass for 30 years.
Brian has been an Art Instructor at Santa Barbara Art Works for over four years, teaching watercolor class on Wednesdays. He says he paints from personal life experiences and his style of work is influenced by a past watercolor teacher, combining black ink and watercolors.
